This month's First Thursday Art Walk features the opening of an exhibition of photographic works by John Stinson, president of the San Pedro Art Association at the San Pedro Visitor Center, 225 W. 6th Street, Downtown.
There’ll be refreshments and great conversation.
Festivities kick off around 6 p.m. and it’s always a big night out for all of San Pedro—the art center of the greater Los Angeles area.
The galleries and studios will be open and it’s an opportunity to meet the artists and discuss their works.
Uptown on Pacific Avenue at 8th Street, the Art Deco Building will hop with Windy Barnes in Windy’s Cabaret downstairs (enter off 8th Street). Windy is a top jazz singer and she’s always backed by some outstanding musicians. Admission is free.
Just make your way around the area from 4th Street on the north to 8th Street on the south, Palos Verdes Street on the east to Pacific Avenue on the west. You’ll find plenty to see, do, drink, and eat.
And remember that many of the Downtown restaurants offer specials on First Thursday. Enjoy dining in a nice San Pedro restaurant (and support the locally-owned businesses).
