The Speakeasy Cabaret, 520 W. 8th Street, Uptown Pacific Avenue

It's Showtime/731-741 Pacifc Avenue Is History, Glamour, Fun

Train room at 731-741 S. Pacific Avenue
731-741 S. Pacific Avenue

Take a former department store building built during the Art Deco era, fill it with antiques, and make it a place for art, music, food, and all other good things.

That's only the beginning of how to describe It's Showtime and the 731-741 Pacific Avenue building.

Downstairs is the Speakeasy Cabaret that hosts music and other arts events.

On the main level is an array of antiques and collectibles, many of which are truly one-of-a-kind (as in literally the only one left in the world).

They say there are those who've never seen San Pedro in the daytime.

That's because they just come for the nightlife.

Could be because there's plenty going on in the area most every night.

The First Thursday of every month is the Art Walk and restaurants and bars have special entertainment (and usually special offers) to celebrate the night. You'll find all the action in Downtown between Palos Verdes Street and Pacific Avenue generally between 5th and 9th Streets.

From great music, movies, and books to curiosities and collectibles, The Grand Emporium in Downtown San Pedro is a place where you'll spend hours--and not see it all.
It's got new CDs, LPs, and DVDs, but also stocks an impressive inventory of vintage media.
You'll find Frank, Dean, and Sammy, but also the great composers. Something you want to hear, Chuck, the friendly proprietor, will put it on his impressive sound system. Movies, too.

Open Thursday-Friday 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Saturday 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Special First Thursday hours 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

The Warner: Truly a Grand Theatre

When the Warner Grand Theatre opened on January 20, 1931, studio mogul Jack Warner called it, “The Palace of Your Dreams.”

Over the years it has been that a more to generations.

The Warner Grand was the first theater in the area to be equipped to show films with sound. Elegant surroundings for Hollywood’s features, shorts, and serials, and especially for those Saturday kids’ matinees.
