We'll look forward to seeing you when you visit San Pedro. (Please drop in at the Visitor Center--we're next door to the Crowne Plaza--and say hello.) To answer your question, yes, there is an ATM at the corner of 6th and Centre Streets operated by Wells Fargo. It's just one block from your hotel.

There has been an increased
There has been an increased number of shark sightings along the Southern California coast. These have generally been to the south of San Pedro Bay. Lifeguards are very alert and always looking for sharks, and warn swimmers, suffers, and others in and around the water when sharks have been seen in the area. As always, though, one needs to use caution in the ocean--whether it's because of sharks or other sea life or currents. Here is a recent article on why the shark sightings are a good thing--conservation measures are working. Take a look at http://laist.com/2017/05/30/just_when_you_thought_it_was_safe.php

Yes. The Hey, Rookie Pool
Yes. The Hey, Rookie Pool just opened at Angels Gate Park on Gaffey Street. There is also a public swimming pool at Peck Park on Western Avenue. Our recommended hotels all have pools. Cabrillo Beach has a very calm section inside the breakwater.

Currency exchange question

It is possible to exchange
It is possible to exchange currencies at banks, but this is an infrequent request and you may not get the best rates in exchanging foreign currency for U.S. dollars. There are currency exchange booths at Los Angeles International Airport and at some Downtown Los Angeles locations. It might be best for people traveling to San Pedro to obtain U.S. dollars while at home abroad.

Thanks for asking. Ports O' Call Village, which used to be on the San Pedro Waterfront, was demolished to make way for the San Pedro Public Market development. Construction should begin this spring. We're all looking forward to this great new attraction. It will have shops, dining, and more.
In the meantime, the San Pedro Fish Market and some other restaurants are still in business, operating along the Waterfront.

Art walk
Our Art Walk takes place on the first Thursday of every month. The next one will be on December 5.
It's an evening when the galleries and studios are open in the Historic Downtown area. Restaurants have specials and there's lots of entertainment all around. It's often when exhibitions open in the galleries.
Lots of fun. Come to San Pedro and find out!
