The 9th annual Remember The Music event is coming up September 15 at Ernie Howlett Park in conjunction with the City of Rolling Hills Estates Celebration.

Remember The Music is an annual roots music festival benefitting Alzheimer's disease research organized by Betty's Foundation. The foundation was inspired by Grandmother, Betty, who loved music and dancing. She and her husband were square dance champions many years ago in Ohio. Grandma Betty lived with Alzheimer’s for 16 years before finally giving in September, 2012.

But music is an undeniable influence for those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease; by shifting moods, reducing stress, stimulating memories, and facilitating cognitive function.

The afternoon Remember The Music festival featuring artists inspired by the sounds of American roots music. It will have lawn seating, a VIP tent, food trucks, beer vendors, arts and crafts, and more.

Two award-winning bands are already lined up: Gethen Jenkins received two awards at the 2017 California Country Music Awards for Best Male Artist and Best Album: Where the Honkytonk Belongs. The female trio, Honey County, received three awards at the 2017 California Country Music Awards for Best Music Video, Best Band, and Best Song: Love Someone. They will be supported by Victoria Bailey and HWY 91.

In addition, there will be local craft breweries, wineries, and food trucks at the event. There will also be many activities for children (and adult)s such as corn kernel pits, hay jumping pits, pony rides, face painting, corn hole, and line dancing.
